The Full Story

My name is Reyes Cortez Jr. I am 40 and live in the North Platte area of the beautiful state of Nebraska. I am a father of 4 beautiful children that my wife and I were blessed to be able to adopt back in 2016. I have been married for almost 19 years to my best friend, Lacie. Originally from Texas, I have held many job positions from pastor to management to IT technician. I have been extremely blessed to have been exposed to many different jobs gaining many skills and especially being able to utilize them in ministry and further God’s Kingdom.

In 2003, I decided to take a year off from college to pray about the direction God wanted me to go in my life. It was within that year that I felt a calling to the ministry to be a pastor going wherever God would send me. In 2005, my wife and I wrote out a covenant/contract to God just before we got married stating that wherever He wanted us to go and whatever He wanted us to do that we would be obedient and follow and our “yes” was on the table. We also stated and wrote that we would raise our children in the ways of Jesus, we then signed the contract and prayed over it. Since that time, God has launched us into various roles in the ministry loving on his people and reaching the lost. I have been blessed to serve and lead in ministries implementing the vision of the church along with making sure structure and consistency was being upheld with the mission and the vision of the church.

Upon foster adopting our 4 beautiful children in 2016, we felt God calling us to slow down and focus our time raising, bonding, and learning how to connect with our new family since we went from a family of 2 to now a family of 6 overnight. During this period, we grew closer as a family and with God. My wife and I feel God's calling us to a new chapter now more than ever to find a ministry where we not only help grow the church but establish roots in the community and reach the lost to further the Kingdom of God.
